The National Academy for Finance and Economics implemented, as lead partner, in cooperation with our consortium partners from the Republics of Croatia, Bulgaria and Latvia, and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Twinning project “Strengthening Budget Planning, Execution and Internal Control Functions”.

The project was launched on 1st February 2020 and lasted for 54 months. The primary objective of the project was to further improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public spending through activities that support the implementation of the Public Finance Management (PFM) Reform Programme.

The scope of the project covered four main components in the fields of budget management and control, public internal financial control and financial inspection, public procurement and anti-fraud. Furthermore, under the auspices of the project, a Public Finance Academy was established within the Ministry of Finance to provide training to all key bodies in the sector.

It has been a great honour and privilege for the National Academy to be the lead partner in this successful Twinning Project. Enclosed you will find a short video in which the twinning project is explained.
