Summer Course 2023
One full week of training on public financial management in the Hague. This year’s Summer Course of the National Academy for Finance and Economics welcomed 43 participants as part of the Netherlands’ Constituency Program.
It has become a tradition to have a kick-off of the course in miniature city Madurodam, where we all get to know each other and participants present their countries’ public financial management. This is followed by an intensive week of training by Dutch experts from the ministry of Finance, the Tax Administration and line ministries. All participants received a well-deserved certificate!
It is remarkable, that all participants get a chance to present about the ongoing reforms regarding PFM. It will be great opportunity, to share other countries experience and improve my professional skills.
Some stated learning goals of our participants:
- I expect this Summer Course to contribute to my future development in the field of public finance in general and public expenditure. I look forward to meeting motivated and enthusiastic people with whom we can exchange experiences and work well as a team.
- Exchanging views and experience with experts from other participating countries; Learning new knowledge about the Dutch tax system and tax administration. I have received very positive feedback from colleagues who have participated in the course in previous years.
- According to the agenda, I expect, that the meetings will be very active, informative and useful. For several years, the Dutch Ministry of Finance organizes a Summer Course on Public Financial Management in broad sense for their counterparts from Armenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Mongolia, Romania and Ukraine. The objective of the Summer Course is to train government officials in the field of Public Financial Management in general. In addition, the training will contribute to the creation of networks by bringing colleagues from the different countries together. Two different themes are treated: public expenditure management and taxation. The final topic is coordinated by the Dutch Tax Administration.
